Fortitude: An Avenue for Achievement

Achievement seems to be a process rather than an outcome. I’m no subject matter expert. In fact, I fail more often that I succeed; however, I’ve come to realize that the journey is more valuable than the destination.

I am finding that I cannot define by myself by my past, nor profession, nor appearance; thus, all I can try to be is present and aware of the hear and now. Although, I also find that I must coincide with how I go about living life, rather than fight my true nature. I grew up with an alcoholic mother, who selfish behavior still makes it difficult for me to tolerate. As a young adult, I spent most of my 20s serving in the infantry branch of the Army, or attempting to identify who I was after departing. I’ve also served as a wildland firefighter, and learned how much I enjoy reading and writing while in college. Since turning 30, my beautiful wife and I have been blessed with two wonderful children, yet I struggle to determine what my passion and purpose is. Knowing that I will spend more time away from my wife and children, I want to enjoy and have fulfillment in my life’s work. Therefore, in summary, I’m seeking to determine what I must do now to overcome self-defeating efficacies and provide a benefit to the world.

Fortitude is my attempt to connect with the world. To provide support for those who seek to benefit others and build something beneficial for many.
